Project OutReach > Testimonials

Former Project OutReach participants and leaders have great things to say about Project OutReach. Often, Project OutReach helps develop community service connections that students continue to keep for their entire college career, or even longer! Project OutReach participants have found the program to be meaningful, enriching, and important to adjustment and development as a new student at NYU. Here are just a few samples of what students have said about Project OutReach.

  • Project OutReach inspired me to go out of my comfort zone into the huge metropolis of New York and look it straight in the eyes.

  • I can't imagine a better way to start off my college career than with Project OutReach. Participating in service projects in the city offered a unique view on New York. Even better was starting my time at NYU by working side-by-side with students who share a common interest in service. I had an absolute blast and felt at home in NYC and at NYU right away via Project OutReach.

  • Project OutReach was the very first thing I participated in upon my arrival to New York University, and it has been without a doubt one of the paramount experiences I have had throughout my two years thus far at NYU.

  • We all had rewarding, awakening, and humbling experiences with our projects.

  • In addition to the great service opportunities I had at Project OutReach, the connections developed through the program were fabulous. I still go back to the Soup Kitchen of the Holy Apostle on Fridays.

  • Project OutReach was a positive experience that set the tone for the rest of my time at NYU.

  • Knowing that everyone there came for many of the same reasons established a close bond between students.

  • When school began, I already had a group of friends from Project OutReach, which helped ease my transition into a new city and the college experience.

  • Project Outreach gave me a chance to become familiar with the city before the rush and the confusion of Welcome Week. I met some amazing people, many of whom I am still friends with today. I loved the fact that I was not only exploring the city, but really helping to make a difference in the lives of the people who call this place home. And if all this isn't proof enough, I'm back again this year and I can't wait to get started!
