The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2008 in the Rosenthal Pavillion.

Chapter Excellence Award
The Chapter Excellence award is presented to the fraternity and sorority that distinguishes themselves as an example organization for others to follow. All organizations considered for this award should be in good standing with the Inter Greek Council and with representative governing organizations (i.e. IFC, Panhel, MGC.) The group should provide documentation and information to support achievement in the following areas: Facilitates development of leadership skills for members, has had impact on the NYU community through programs and services, has the organization given back to the community, has fostered relations with alumni and community groups/ agencies, supports of campus wide events and co-sponsorship opportunities, and participates in FSL and NYU campus wide events.
Greek Man/Woman of the Year
This award is presented to the male and female individual who has made the most significant contributions to the overall Greek community and to New York University since Spring 2006. This individual must be a member in good standing with their chapter and their affiliate headquarters if applicable. The individual must have been an active member of his/her chapter since Spring 2006. Nominators should provide documentation including current leadership roles within their chapter, the FSL community (i.e. Inter Greek Council, IFC, GLAD 101/201, Order of Omega), positions in other clubs/organizations, academic/scholastic honors and awards has won within the last year, current community service activities, and any additional information that would aid the committee in the selection process
Outstanding Member Development
The Outstanding Membership Development Award is presented to the FSL fraternity and sorority who have demonstrated a commitment to the continual education and development of chapter members. Nominations will be judged based on the criteria of: development of members academically and socially, officer training and transition process, chapter unity events and activities, utilization of Alumni and Chapter Advisors, and commitment to encouraging active involvement in the Greek community.
Outstanding NEW Member Development
The Outstanding NEW Member Development award is presented to the FSL fraternity and sorority who have demonstrated a commitment to the recruitment, retention, and holistic education of their new members. Nominations will be judged based on the criteria of: Recruitment practices, retention of new members, integration of academics into development, leadership development opportunities, campus and Greek community involvement, and risk management education.
Outstanding Commitment to Scholarship
The Outstanding Commitment to Scholarship award is presented to the FSL fraternity and sorority who have demonstrated a commitment to academics and scholarship within their organization and campus wide efforts. Nominations will be judged based on the criteria of: utilization of campus resources, activities and programs that encourage members to excel academically, academic incentive programs, incorporation of campus faculty members, overall impact of scholarship programs on membership
Outstanding Commitment to Service
The Outstanding Service to the Community award is presented to the FSL fraternity and sorority who have demonstrated a commitment to the betterment of the New York University and New York City community through chapter programs, participation in and sponsorship of outreach programs, and philanthropic efforts. Nominations will be judged based on the criteria of: community service hours, philanthropic donations, participation in campus community service efforts, chapter community service programming, and participation in Inter Greek Council service programs.
Outstanding Commitment to Alumni Relations
The Outstanding Alumni Relations may be awarded to a chapter that demonstrates a significant effort to reach out to the alumni members of their chapter through publications, events, and activities. These events may include alumni weekend activities, banquets, and other events that are specifically held and planned for alumni of your chapter. Nominations will be judged based on the criteria of: including alumni in appropriate chapter events, facilitating active/alumni relations, keeping Alumni informed on chapter and campus issues, inclusion of Alumni in the new member education program.
Outstanding Commitment to the Lafayette Community
The Outstanding Contributions to the Lafayette Community Award is presented to the FSL fraternity and sorority who have demonstrated a commitment to the living/learning community of the Lafayette residence hall. Nominations will be judged based on the criteria of: development of positive relationship with members of the Lafayette Resident Assistants, hosted educational and scholarship programs to the FSL community and entire Lafayette Community and satisfied all Lafayette/FSL programming requirements.
Outstanding FSL Community Relations
The Outstanding Community Relations Award is presented to the FSL fraternity and sorority who have demonstrated a commitment to collaborating and establishing solid working relationships with other FSL organizations. Nominations will be judged based on the criteria of: conscious effort to interact with other NYU fraternities and sororities excluding social events, these events may be joint philanthropy and service projects or dinners, maintains positive relationships with organizations in the NYU Greek community, and emphasize the importance of community to chapter and new members throughout their collegiate experience.
Outstanding Chapter Advisor
The Outstanding Chapter Advisor Award is presented to the FSL fraternity and sorority advisor (faculty/staff/alumni) who has demonstrated a commitment to the continual education and development of chapter members. Nominations will be judged based on the criteria of: assists in the development of members academically and socially, assists officer training and transition process, and makes a concerted effort to play an active role in chapter activities and initiatives
Pillar of Excellence Award (Seniors Only)
The Pillar of Excellence Award was created to recognize outstanding graduating Seniors at New York University who have excelled along the following criteria : long term record of service in leadership and membership roles in campus organizations and activities, maintains high academic standards, exemplified a commitment to the NYU Greek community, fosters positive inter Greek relationships on a personal and organizational level, has made significant impact on development of co-curricular programs and services during their term of service at the college, and serves as a role model for other student leaders.
