Registering a Club
All-Square Club Registration
All OSA registered clubs and organizations must register with OSA each year in order to maintain their status as an OSA registered club and to continue to qualify for the privileges allowed such clubs. All clubs must hold an open election during the month of March and re-register with the Office of Student Activities by June 1 in order to maintain club status and privileges.
After June 1, all clubs that have failed to register will be referred to the Student Activities Board for review. Your status as an OSA registered club expires on August 31 along with all of your OSA registered club privileges. Until OSA is notified by SAB that you may re-register, your status as an OSA registered club is no longer valid.
School Club, Student Council and Office Club Registration
A student organization's registration with OSA is valid from June 1 to May 31 each year.
The University Committee on Student Life and the Student Senators Council encourage school clubs, individual student councils and office clubs at NYU to register each year with the Office of Student Activities.
Organizations who annually register with OSA receive the following privileges:
- Current officers are added to the OSA database and as a result receive invitations to University events and helpful information related to managing a student organization at NYU.
- Current officers in the OSA database are authorized to reserved rooms in the Kimmel Center for University Life for meetings and programs sponsored by their student organization. Spaces fees are waived for OSA registered clubs.
- Student organizations registered with OSA can receive an Nyu web site and club alias through ITS. Fees are waived for registered clubs.
- Clubs currently registered with OSA are invited in August to reserve a table for the OSA Fall Club Fest at Coles Sports Center held during the first week of September.
- Currently registered clubs are listed on the OSA web site in a comprehensive University-wide club directory, as well as OSA publications. Included on the club's page is their name, mission statement, mailing address, web address (if applicable), and alias (if applicable). This is a useful tool when club leaders are seeking co-sponsorships with other student clubs or when the University community or others want to make contact with your organization.
Each April the current president and treasurer of the club will receive a reminder to register the new officers of the organization with OSA for the upcoming academic year. Current officers are "retired" and archived in the OSA database and new officers are added on June 1 of each year. The president and treasurer of the organization can update officer information at any time during the year through the OSA web site using their NYU NetID account information.
School Club, Student Council and Office Club Registration Form
Do not use this form if you are an All-Square Club. See an OSA advisor for assistance.
Use this form for Fall 2007 and Spring 2008 registration only.
Leaving any of the fields blank or providing invalid inforation will prevent your registration from being completed. Officers must be fully matriculated NYU Students in good standing with the University currently enrolled in a degree program.
For School Clubs and Student Government organizations: OSA requires that the President or an equivalent position registers. Clubs may opt to register other officers in addition to their president. Upon confirming your club status with the administrator for access to web sites/databases, please register your webmaster. Registration must be received by October 1 for fall or February 1 for spring or June 1 for fall.
OSA will contact the webmaster with access information once they have registered. Any registered officers of a club may reserve space in Kimmel Center for club activities.
For Administrative Office clubs: OSA requires that the president or equivalent position registers. Upon confirming your club status with the administrator for your club, OSA will email the President with the link to register the executive board. OSA does not register office club webmasters nor do we provide websites/aliases to these clubs since office club websites are under the administration of the office. Registered officers may reserve space in Kimmel Center for club activities. They may not reserve Kimmel space on behalf of the office they are affiliated. Kimmel Operations will monitor all reservations to assure adherence to this policy and may charge groups for use of space at their discretion.
