13 EASY WAYS YOU CAN GET INVOLVED & STAY INFORMED

  1. Join any of the OSA listservs

  2. Surf the OSA club directory at
    http://www.osa.nyu.edu for a complete listing of over 300 student clubs, organizations, and teams. Included in the directory are the club mission statements, advisor names, web addresses, and contact information. Then send a personal email to the group’s officers indicating your interest in the club. Ask them for info about meeting dates, times, and locations.
  3. Join a NYU student organization: these include All-Square or school clubs, cultural or theme celebration planning committees, fraternities, sororities, the Program Board, intramural sports teams, and class councils.
  4. Attend the OSA Club Fest on Thursday, September 7, 2006, from 2pm to 7pm at the Coles Sports Center, 181 Mercer Street and meet the student leaders and members from over 300 student organizations at NYU.
  5. Complete a "Membership Interest Form" (MIF) and drop it off to the mailbox of the club you are interested in joining. The bright orange MIF’s are located on the wall next to the club mailboxes behind the info counter in the OSA Club Lounge, 7th floor, Kimmel Center. Additional forms can be picked up in OSA located off the lounge in suite 704. You can’t miss our sign and logo!
  6. Attend a general meeting, audition, or activity sponsored by a student organization. They are open to all students. Most activities are free of charge. Refreshments are often served.
  7. Visit the OSA website at http://www.osa.nyu.edu for an updated weekly calendar of OSA, Program Board, Fraternity, Sorority and student club events or check out the club events list on your NYUHome page.
  8. Check the OSA literature racks and bulletin boards on the 7th floor of the Kimmel Center for flyers, posters, and other information about student organizations and activities.
  9. Stop by the OSA Open Advisement Hours and meet one-on-one with an OSA advisor to explore ways to get involved.
  10. Participate in an OSA Program. They include the New Club Development Program, the GOLD Leadership Program, or the Alternative Breaks Program. Applications and deadline dates are available on the OSA web site
    or at OSA.
  11. Drop by an OSA Take-A-Break Program during final exams for free food, fun stress relief activities, and a chance to revive yourself before hitting the books.
  12. Sign up for the OSA Arts Adventures or Wilderness Adventures and explore New York both within and beyond the city.
  13. Hang out in the OSA Club Lounge and mingle with student leaders and new friends. It’s also a great place to escape for a little quiet time by yourself—we promise to be the best cloud watching spot on campus. You’ll know what we mean when you see it. Kimmel Center, 7th floor.
