Camping Equipment Rental Policies and Rates


  • I. Eligibility

    • a. Only current students, faculty, and staff may rent equipment from the Office of Student Activities.
    • b. You must present a valid NYU Card at time of rental.

  • II. Terms of Use

    • a. Equipment must be returned in working order and reasonably clean.
    • b. Students will be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged equipment and will be charged 100% of the original purchase price minus 2% per year OSA has owned the particular item in question.
    • c. A fee of $15.00 will be assessed to any student who fails to clean rented equipment prior to returning it.

  • III. Reservations and Deposits

    • a. Reservations are not required to rent equipment, however they are recommended especially for large groups.
    • b. Equipment must be reserved in person at the Office of Student Activities.
    • c. The full rental amount must be paid at time of reservation.
    • d. Reservation deposits are 50% refundable if cancelled before 48 hours of agreed rental date. Deposits are non-refundable within 48 hours of the agreed rental date.

  • IV. Check Out and Returns

    • a. Items can be checked out between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday.
    • b. All items must be returned by 4:30 PM on the date specified on your rental agreement form.
    • c. Students will be charged at the base rate for each item returned late per diem.
